The National Conference of Hospital Administration- SASH 2022, is going to be held on

24th and 25th September, 2022.

The mega conference is being held first time in eastern India at Bhubaneswar, organized by the Department of Hospital Administration, All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Bhubaneswar in collaboration with Academy of Hospital Administration (AHA), Noida & Regional Chapter -AHA Bhubaneswar.

SASH stands for Safe and Sustainable Hospitals. With advancement of medical sciences, the healthcare system is now a multi-disciplinary entity. Safety is always the priority at any hospital, both for patients and healthcare workers. A hospital involves human resource, medical equipment, drugs and medical consumable items, furniture, medical gases, laboratories, operation theatres, ICUs, stationary, administrations, information technology etc. to run the hospital at optimal level 24×7 for 365 days needs professional hospital administrators.

The theme of the SASH 2022 is aptly chosen to be “Hospitals are more than just patient care- The need for qualified Hospital Administrators”.

Academy of Hospital Administration, Noida

Academy of hospital administration (AHA), Noida is a professional body of qualified hospital administrators. Established in 1987 under Societies Registration Act, 1860 at AIIMS, New Delhi and later moved to its own campus to AHA House, Sector 62, NOIDA (UP). The AHA is a national platform of hospital administrators which helps and enables to interact in various forums.

Academy of Hospital Administration (AHA) is an autonomous professional organization consisting of highly qualified and experienced Experts and faculty in hospital & health systems operations management, public health and multispecialty facilities planning & architectural designing doyens, Quality management in health care delivery systems (NABH, NQAS & NABL) experts, public health strategists etc. AHA has a large panel of academia, experts in Bio-Medical Engineers, Health IT professionals, Telemedicine, Medical & Wellness tourism, Bio-Medical Waste Management, Lean & Six Sigma, and other allied fields in health-related domains.

Regional Chapter- Academy of Hospital Administration, Bhubaneswar

The regional chapter for Academy of Hospital Administration (AHA)-Bhubaneswar started in February 2022. It was inaugurated by the AHA founding member Maj Gen BikashMohanti, (AVSM), Senior Members like Dr Goutam Dey, Dr (Col) U C Parida, Dr Jawahar S K Pillai, Dr Anil Patra, Dr Siddharth Mishra, Dr Soumya Ranjan Mishra & Dr Biswajeevan Sahoo. It is headed byDr. Jawahar S K Pillai, Professor & Head, Dept of Hospital Administration, AIIMS Bhubaneswar as Regional Executive Director.

The regional chapter aims to bring all the heads of hospitals in Odisha & eastern India to a local platform. The forum also has a vision to develop the department through research, academic courses and training of the healthcare workers.

Department of Hospital Administration, AIIMS Bhubaneswar

The Department of Hospital Administration was established on 5th July 2018 at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Bhubaneswar. The department ensures seamless daily Hospital operations and develops strategic plans to improve services of both patients & employees. The team has been instrumental in taking lead role in various activities related to quality and patient safety, infrastructure development, human resource development, leadership etc.

The Department is conducting MD in Hospital Administration since January 2019. The academic sessions consist of seminar and lectures, group discussions, media mirror for update on current affairs, journal clubs, etc.
The department also organized several national level education webinars for improving the healthcare quality like Clinical Audit, Incident Reporting and patient Safety. The department also offers a post-doctoral fellowship in Healthcare Quality Patient Safety.
